Abstract
Background: Recent research indicates that rehabilitation exercises and the use of orthoses significantly improve lower limb-related conditions. Therefore, the present study aimed to review the effects of various non-invasive interventions on improving knee hyperextension. Methods: This study was a narrative review. Articles in Persian and English were searched from the beginning of December 1992 to the beginning of January 2025 in specialized databases, including PubMed, WoS, Scopus, SID, Magiran, Science Direct, JCR, and Google Scholar. Ultimately, 9 articles related to various non-invasive interventions for individuals with knee hyperextension were reviewed. Results: The articles in the field of non-invasive interventions for improving posture in individuals with knee hyperextension demonstrated that exercises and the use of orthoses help achieve proper posture. Another group of studies examined the effects of non-invasive interventions on improving knee hyperextension during walking in affected individuals, showing that these interventions significantly enhance gait in people with knee hyperextension. Conclusion: The present review study revealed that non-invasive interventions can effectively improve knee hyperextension.
